The black belt family hobby

ONE black belt per household is hard enough to receive so when the Lindsey family scooped two last month there was certainly reason for celebration.

ONE black belt per household is hard enough to receive so when the Lindsey family scooped two last month there was certainly reason for celebration.

Jenny Lindsey and her 13-year-old son Liam were both presented with the well-respected award - and now her other younger children Jenna, David and Louis, and husband Ian are hoping to reach the same level.

All six attend the Shirley Kickboxing Club run by four-times World Kickboxing Champion Kash the Flash Gill.

Jubilant Jenny was delighted with her achievement and is now even considering coaching herself.

“It’s great to go as a family hobby and learn self defence at the same time,” she said.

“It’s also given the kids a good discipline and a real confidence booster.”

The talented duo got their accolade when the established International Freestyle Association held its Grading at the Kash The Flash Gym in Edgbaston in front of a panel of expert judges.

Kash is set start up a new programme for beginners. To join call him on 07973 421 690.
