Alastair McChesney retained the crown for a third successive year with a time of 56 mins 20 secs in Solihull CC’s 25 mile time trial championship.
However, there was a new ladies champion for 2010 with Cath Ward proving once again this season that she is Solihull CC’s fastest female, clocking 1:15 dead.
In the same event, Richard Eason and Ian Cowan took second and third place in 57: 8 and 1:0:11 respectively.
McChesney’s winning streak continued as he also won Hinckley Cycle Road Club’s 10 mile time trial event.
Two of Solihull CC’s time trial veterans travelled to Worcester on Saturday for Worcester St Johns Cycling Club’s Open 10 mile time trial event.
Eddie Priddy came in fourth place in 22: 24 securing him the prize of British Cycling’s fastest ‘2nd Category’ rider in the Midlands. Fellow Solihull CC rider Steve Mountford was 12th in 23:23.
At the Dragon two-day stage race at Resolven in South Wales, Solihull CC’s Ian Cowan achieved an impressive sixth place overall standings after three stages.
Organised by the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists the annual event tests competitors over three distances, being a 3.5 mile time trial sprint and two longer events of 44 and 56 miles. Cowan demonstrated total consistency over all three distances, finishing in sixth place in each race.
