SOLIHULL Cycling Club enjoyed five victories at Victoria Park in Leamington Spa last weekend.

Among the winners were Ben Thomas in the first 4th Cat race, over 25k, who took the win for the club with teammate Dave Stockill finishing as runner-up.

Wayne McKeown got his tactics right to win the second 3rd Cat race and Ben Mountford impressed finishing 9th.

Elsewhere at the new cycle circuit in Tudor Grange Park the club staged its first of six race days planned for the year and Saturday was for youth riders under 16.

There were 23 riders of which eight picked up podium places.

In the U8 boys race James Upton took the win in both his races and Natalie Clements finished first in race one and second in race two for the U12 girls.

Lucy Shaw rode well to take third in both events.

In the U14 race Danny Fox just missed the podium with 4th in race one but bettered this in race two to take 3rd.

And in the U16 races Rebecca Keogh won first place in race two while Joe Fox rode well in race one to take 4th place.

The club is starting another introductory session tomorrow as part of an eight-week programme. Sessions start at 2-30pm -3.30pm and there is a one-off cost of £20.
