KNOWLE and Dorridge were lucky to get a winning draw away at Smethwick last weekend.
After being dismissed for 207 in 42.3 overs, the home side were left with 56 overs to chase down their target.
Alec Baker with 50 and Chris Davidson with 43 were the leading batsmen with Aurrol Kirnon picking up 4 for 53 for Smethwick.
A superb unbeaten 109 by former Derbyshire and Warwickshire all-rounder Mo Sheikh took Smethwick close to victory but identical figures of 3 for 52 by Will Mottram and Attiq Chishti restricted the home side to 189 for eight.
K & D captain Jamie Spires said: “It went okay. We were only a couple of wickets away from 24 points. It could have gone either way.
“We got the worst of the weather, we lost the toss and they put us in on a fairly uneven wicket. It had flattened out by the time Smethwick went in. We were fairly lucky to get a winning draw.”
K & D now sit fourth in the Birmingham Premier Division league with Barnt Green 14 points clear at the top.
Tomorrow (Saturday) K & D host Shrewsbury.
