KNOWLE and Dorridge slumped to a three wicket defeat at Wolverhampton last Saturday.
Attiq Chishti (55), Richard Johnson (54) and Justin Hemming (43) were the main contributors in K & D’s 215 all out at Danescourt, with Aaron Jeavons snapping up 4 for 37.
Jeavons (64) also starred with the bat and with the assistance of Simon Lycett (44 not out) and Tom Fell (39) saw lowly Wolverhampton to a vital three wicket win.
Captain Jamie Spires said: “It was a reasonably close - 215 was probably enough if we had bowled better.
“I summed it up at the end of the match that we just did our basics slightly worse than they did. Everyone was disappointed.
“We have Barnt Green and Himley to play. It’s in our hands to claw a large part of those points back Whether there’s a bit too much to be done remains to be seen.
“Barnt Green play us on the Saturday and Himley on Monday over the Bank Holiday.”
Tomorrow (Saturday) Knowle and Dorridge travel to Leamington Spa.
Spires added: “Leamington are similar to Wolves. They’ve got a good batting line-up and in this type of game the toss is crucial.”
