THE BARONS knew they had a tough fixture ahead after losing a number of key players to injuries, bans, and holidays – a lucky goal for the opposition after 25 seconds didn’t help matters either.
But this was the wake up call the Barons needed, their senior players taking control of the game, and captain Rob Eley scoring after five minutes.
The same player gave the Barons the lead after nine minutes, before Rich Slater scored his team’s third.
At the beginning of the second period Mike Smith let rip a shot that hit the back of the net without the Bradford goalie even seeing it.
Bradford came back into the game, and Sam Hewitt had to make some good saves in the Barons net.
Just before the end of the second period Ross Pink extended Solihull’s lead even further. The final period ended a one-sided affair with goals from youngster Charlie Hammerton, Andy Ayers, Jack Robinson, Smith, and Eley.
