Burton 54 Camp Hill 9

On a beautiful day at Peel Croft the sun certainly shone on the home side, which, led by a powerful pack, was propelled to a sizeable victory.

On a beautiful day at Peel Croft the sun certainly shone on the home side, which, led by a powerful pack, was propelled to a sizeable victory.

Until the end of the first quarter the score was restricted to 3-3, via penalties from Darryl Banton and Camps’ Ian Briggs.

But Burton wing Dave Archer and No 8 Craig Dunn then went over for a try.

Banton then went over as did flanker Joe Carpenter, allowing Burton to turn round at 25-9.

To their credit Camps’ young side, with an average of just 23, continued to scrap for everything but with no reward. A further five tries ensued from Archer, Tom Bartram (2), Lawrence Betty and Banton.
