Camp Hill 47 Leamington 0
AFTER an evenly-contested first half-hour Camp Hill eventually hit their stride to dominate their visitors.
In the end, this romp was Camps’ best league win for more than three years.
Centre Ian Briggs gave Camps a sixth minute lead through a penalty. Ten minutes later quick ball from a line-out on the left went down the line to right wing George Wilkinson who evaded three tackles to go over in the corner.
Full back Simon Edwards who broke through the middle from 25 metres out to touch down. Briggs added the conversion, then another penalty before adding the extras to a try from hooker Adam A smart interchanging move released Wilkinson, who happily ran in his second and claimed Camps’ bonus point.
Just after the hour mark Briggs collected a Leamington clearance kick, made good yards and then fed fellow centre Jon Ford who slipped the ball to number 8 Rob Hill for a try. Twelve minutes later Edwards broke from his own half before flanker Mick Stephens took the ball over for his season’s third.
Another Edwards dash set up Hill for his second score just prior to the end of an entertaining affair.
On Saturday Camp Hill travel to new opponents Worcester Wanderers (ko 2.15pm).
