A JUNIOR rugby team from Solihull will run out at the home of Guinness Premiership champions Leicester Tigers on Saturday when they compete in the quarter-finals of the prestigious Prima Tiger Cup.

Silhillians Under 10s will take on Stoke in front of a large crowd at the 24,000-capacity Welford Road before Tigers’ Heineken Cup clash with Clermont Auvergne.

The game is one of two Prima Tiger Cup quarter-finals being played on Saturday, with Wolverhampton facing Old Leamingtonians in the other clash.

Scott Clarke, Tigers community manager, said: “For the children, it will be their first experience of playing at Welford Road.

“It is a big day for them and we hope they can enjoy the experience and enjoy their chance to play at the home of Leicester Tigers.”

The Prima Tiger Cup is now in its 15th season and is a competition for under-10s playing contact rugby.

Silhillians reached the last eight of the 50-strong competition by qualifying from the Leicestershire and Warwickshire festival.
