SILHILLIANS RUFC have announced the appointment of former Colts player Gareth Taylor as their new head coach.
Gareth began his rugby career at the Sils before time with Nottingham, Bees and most notably Moseley.
During his time at Moseley, he became the owner of the No 9 shirt, with over 90 successive appearances and had two stints as club captain going on to lift the EDF Energy National Trophy at Twickenham.
On his appointment, Taylor said: “I’m delighted at the opportunity of coaching the Sils.
“I played here as a youngster and it’s great to see there is still have a thriving mini and junior section nurturing the talent of the future.
“The club has a great mix of competitive and social rugby and my aim this season is to develop the players throughout the club, preparing them as best I can for the new challenges they face.
“The club is celebrating their 80th anniversary this year and it would be great to help them celebrate with success on the pitch”
Pre-season training starts at 7pm on Thursday July 5 at Copt Heath. Players of all abilities are wanted and welcomed.
