STRUGGLING Birmingham and Solihull might be propping up the Championship table at the moment - but that hasn’t stopped them having two players selected for England at this month’s Commonwealth Games.

STRUGGLING Birmingham and Solihull might be propping up the Championship table at the moment - but that hasn’t stopped them having two players selected for England at this month’s Commonwealth Games.

Winger Simon Hunt and scrum half John Brake have both been called into the England Sevens squad.

Hunt, who has played at Guinness Premiership level with London Irish and also in the Magners League for Newport Gwent Dragons, has been a regular in the England Sevens set-up since 2001.

Brake, by contrast, is a newcomer to the international Sevens scene and has arrived at Bees from top flight Northampton Saints where he is a product of their academy system.

The pair travel to Delhi on Saturday accompanied by Bees Director of Rugby Russell Earnshaw who is also assistant to head coach Ben Ryan.
