Centre John Robinson scored the opening try for the visitors with Alex Gay, Phil Evans and Luke Smith adding further scores to hand them a 28-14 interval lead.
Unfortunately, Solihull's only points of the second half came from a penalty and their Staffordshire hosts finished with a flourish to grab victory. n Old Yardleians romped to a 49-5 victory over Moseley Oak, Ben Honey leading the way with a brace of tries.
Phil Painter and Ian Walker added scores before half-time with Jo Patrick, Seymour Seaton, Bobo Robinson, Peter Butler and Honey scoring after the break. n Silhillians made a winning start to their league campaign, beating neighbours Berkswell & Balsall 23-12.
Two tries from Chris Wood-hams and another from Jim Roper paved the way with Roper adding two penalties and Simon Doherty kicking a conversion.
Silhillians Saxons won 39-19 at Stratford 2nds.
