MONTHS of blood, sweat and tears has seen the Chargers top Championship North and face Thurrock in the North v South Cup with the reward being a Premiership place.

Thurrock, a relative newcomer to the leagues, opted to kick off flying the ball out to the backs putting them straight on the front foot. However the Chargers line held.

Winger Kath Hamilton was then unlucky not to make it all the way to the line, but was stopped by an absurdly high tackle.

And it wasn’t long before the referee tired of Thurrock’s ill discipline and sin binned a player for repeated offside.

From the resulting penalty Camp Hill took a 3 point lead.

However it was the T Birds who finished the first half with a flurry, a chip and chase landing perfectly for them to score under the posts for an easy conversion.

With their tales up it wasn’t long into the second half when Thurrock again crossed the line and followed this up with a third try.

Straight from the restart though the Chargers flung the ball out to the fearless Hamilton who powered over the line.

Full back Jo Kilby then effortlessly weaved her way through the defence to score under the posts leaving little doubt of a conversion.

With 10 minutes left the Chargers threw everything into the attack but Thurrock hung on to the bitter end.
