BIRMINGHAM Exiles moved to the top of Midlands Six (SW) with a 14-3 victory at fellow title-contenders Claverdon.
Their opponents topped the table before the game but never threatened the on-song Exiles.
Three penalties from Scott Forester put them ahead in the first half before Claverdon replied with a penalty of their own, minutes before the first 40 was up.
After the break Mark Austin darted through to score and an onslaught looked likely before E’s started to give away needless penalties.
But the defence stood strong and the Bickenhill side held on to record the win.
Tomorrow Exiles host Chaddesley Corbett (2.15pm).
