AN UNDER-10s rugby team from Solihull are celebrating after lifting the North Midlands Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
Silhillians U10s swept the competition away in qualifying against Chaddesley, Droitwich and Dudley Kingswinford - as they scored a total of 15 tries and conceded none.
After scoring four tries unanswered against Luctonians in the quarters, Sils then went on to play local rivals Bromsgrove in the semi-finals, again scoring four tries with no reply.
The final brought together two teams that had not conceded a try all day, Sils and Worcester. After a hard fought first half, the Sils piled on the pressure in the second and ran off winners by a solitary try, scored by Kai Lucas-Dumolo.
