TWENTY-three-year-old Joanne Shaw-Taylor is already a veteran on the blues circuit, having first picked up a guitar at the age of 13.
She has already shared the stage with the likes of BB King and Jimmy Cliff. ''The blues is all about the live performance so I try and improve that as much as possible,'' says Solihull-born Joanne. ''It's valuable experience being on the road but I'm now at the point where I have to get something on record.''
To that end, she has plans to go into the studio soon, with an album slated for January 2009 release. ''It will be mostly original material with just a couple of covers which we perform in concert,'' she says.
She plays the Jam House in St Paul's Square this Wednesday, September 3
