THE humble cardboard box is the inspiration for a new exhibition in Solihull
Keeley Lowe, aged 33, originally trained and worked as a police officer before going to study art at Birmingham university.
She gained a First Class BA (hons), and has now brought her first exhibit “Inside Out” to Solihull Arts Complex.
Influenced by the use of trompe l’oeil (2D works of art that appear 3D) by artists such as Gavin Turk and Susan Collis, “Inside Out” appears at first to be simply a jumble of discarded cardboard boxes.
On closer inspection, lights and infinity mirrors are revealed within many of the cubes.
Expected to create as mixed a response as Tracey Emin’s “My Bed”, “Inside Out” will be on display in the gallery until February 20.
