Artists in the shop window

ARTISTS have been brushing up their skills in Touchwood shopping centre this week.

Members of Solihull Artists’ Forum are the latest group to set up in an empty shop, chatting to shoppers and working on a piece or two.

The artists have been taking it in turns to show off some of their work - with paintings, sketches and sculptures on display.

They are hoping to raise awareness about the group in general - as well as this year’s Art Trail in a few months time.

Scheduled for September 25-26, the event will give people the chance to browse the artists’ own studios.

When it started nine-years-ago, the group had just a handful of members - including former Mayor John Reeve.

Members will remain in Touchwood until Sunday, but if you don’t get chance to pop along, you can see some of the artwork at www.solihullartists.co.uk.
