Band on the road to festival prize

THE daunting prize of opening the V Festival awaits a Solihull band if they can attract enough public votes.

THE daunting prize of opening the V Festival awaits a Solihull band if they can attract enough public votes.

51 Breaks are one of six bands whittled down from over 4,000 who have taken part in the ‘Road to V’ competition which offers bands a chance to play at the summer event.

The lads from Castle Bromwich could end up sharing the stage with The Killers, Oasis and Fatboy Slim, and playing to thousands of festival-goers.

The indie band was personally chosen by Road to V mentor Just Jack, whom they opened for at Brighton’s Great Escape festival.
