THREE bell ringers from Solihull are organising a gathering of campanologists from across the world.

John Anderson, Stephanie Warboys and Derek Smart are inviting all bell ringers and those interested in bells to attend the two-day event at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, home of the Royal Show.

Famous Dutch carilloneur Boudewiijn Zwart will give recitals from Bach, Mozart and Tjaikowski on a portable 50 bell carillon weighing three tons.

The event is taking place on September 5 and 6.

Tickets booked in advance are priced at £6.

Admission is free for youngsters accompanied by adults.

Event organiser John Anderson, from Dorridge said: "The main purpose is to provide an educational forum for bell ringers and to expand the number of ringers with recruitment from the general public. We are expecting about 3000 people."

For more information on the event or to book tickets visit www.ringingroadshow2008.org. uk or call 07504 070030.
