Britain’s Got Talent star Julian Smith is bringing an extra high note to Solihull School’s popular enrichment programme.
The saxophonist, who was national runner-up in the TV talent contest in 2009, will be sharing the stage with the School’s saxophone students on Monday, September 26.
With his soprano saxophone, Julian will be playing crossover classical and smooth jazz numbers with his four-piece band in the Bushell Hall, with Solihull School’s Senior Saxophone Choir performing introductory works in each half of the programme.
Julian will also be taking part in a question and answer session with the audience, who will have the opportunity to meet him and buy his latest CDs.
Stephen Perrins, director of music, who invited Julian after going backstage at one of his concerts, said: “Julian is a world-leading saxophonist and is sure to thrill and inspire our audience at School where around 50 pupils study the instrument.”
Tickets, at £10, are available for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm. Call 0121 705 0958.
