A BOLLYWOOD extravaganza has been announced as the centrepiece of Birmingham Town Hall’s 175th anniversary.

A BOLLYWOOD extravaganza has been announced as the centrepiece of Birmingham Town Hall’s 175th anniversary.

Around 12,000 people are expected to turn out for the three performances taking place in Victoria Square. A professional cast of dancers and hundreds of local schoolchildren are among those taking part.

The event was recently launched by Olympic Gold medalist Denise Lewis. The local athlete is a passionate dancer and performed in a Bollywood number for Comic Relief.

The Bollywood Steps events will be taking place on October 9 and 10.

Members of the public will have the chance to try the moves from the show beforehand, via a ‘play and practice’ film sequence at www.bollywoodstepsbirmingham.co.uk. And if you’d like to know more about the other events taking place for the Town Hall’s anniversary go to www.thsh.co.uk.
