THIS is the picture – by the Yardley-based artist Annemarie Wright – that has whipped up controversy over the past week.
‘Their Families Have Been Told,’ on exhibit in London, is of former-Prime Minister Tony Blair – his face made up from the names of 400 dead soldiers.
Some of those who have lost family in Iraq or Afghanistan have criticised the work.
But Miss Wright insists that the work wasn’t meant to be offensive – all proceeds from the print sales will go to Help for Heroes.
q What do you think of the artwork? Is it disrespectful or does it send out a strong message about all those killed in the line of duty?
