GET into the Christmas spirit with Disney’s version of A Christmas Carol 3D now showing at the IMAX Cinema, Millennium Point in Birmingham.
This much loved literary classic by Charles Dickens has been vividly bought to life on the big screen with clever computer generated imagery envisaged by Polar Express Director Robert Zemeckis.
Appealing to modern audiences, this multi-sensory thrill ride captures the fantastical essence of the classic tale in groundbreaking IMAX 3D format. As in the original story Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). But when the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come take him on an eye-opening journey revealing truths Old Scrooge is reluctant to face, he has to open his heart to undo years of ill will before it’s too late!
Beware this film has a PG rating, and some ghost scenes may upset younger cinema goers or even adults of a sensitive nature (especially the scene where Scrooge falls into his own grave).
This film is a great start to the Christmas season, and you will not be disappointed as you experience Scrooge’s journey to benevolence though your own 3D glasses clad eyes – to find out for yourselves the true meaning of Christmas!
Tickets to see Disney’s A Christmas Carol 3D: The IMAX Experience cost £9 for adults, £7.15 for children and concessions and £29.40 for a family of four (max 2 adults).
