ANYONE desperate for a fix of quality classical music while the summer break is here should head for the Packington Estate in Meriden this Sunday, August 3.
On stage in St James's will be the Musical and Amicable Society performing Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Telemann's Viola Concerto and many other classics.
All proceeds will go towards the restoration of the organ in nearby St Mary's Church.
"It would be really lovely to fill the church, not least because we hope to raise a decent sum for the church organ appeal," said society viola player Kater Fawcett, "and we are delighted to be supporting a local charity."
The Musical and Amicable Society is a local ensemble that perform using period instruments or their replicas from the 18th century bringing the music much closer to how Vivaldi and Telemann themselves would have heard it.
For this event they will be joined by Emily Van Evera - an America soprano with a formidable international reputation.
