LEGENDARY American singer and pianist Buddy Greco is to make his last UK stage appearance at the Circus Casino at Star City in Birmingham on August 8.
Now 82, the Las Vegas-based crooner has decided to give up touring and the Birmingham date is the final show on Greco's final tour, which takes in appearances at Harrogate Music Festival, Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival and Ronnie Scott's in London.
Greco became famous for his hip version of The Lady is a Tramp, which he took to the top of the charts long before Frank Sinatra claimed the song as his own.
He performed with Sinatra's Rat Pack and produced many other hit singles including Girl Talk, Oh Look A-There, Ain't She Pretty, Around the World and From Atlanta to Goodbye.
Buddy also showed his acting talents
when starring in the film The Girl Who Knew Too Much.
Greco's appearance in the Vegas Showbar at Circus Casino is being promoted by singer David Alacey, whose own Frank, Dean and Sammy show, the Rat Pack Is Back, joins Buddy's wife Lezlie Anders on the bill.
He said: "The occasion will be one of great pleasure and, at the same time, great sadness for me personally.
"I'm exhilarated to be involved in this milestone concert but heartbroken that this will be the last time I will see Buddy Greco on stage."
Tickets for the show cost £39 including a three-course meal or £20 for the show only. Box office: 0871 424 4444. Or book online: www.buddygrecoliveco.uk.
