A GLAM rock band from Solihull has raised over £3,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The Glammie Dodgers held a 70’s event in the autumn and have finally managed to tot up all the money. It’s a cause which is close to the heart of Andy Alberti - the band’s singer and guitarist.
He was diagnosed with gall bladder cancer last year, but after surgery and six months chemotherapy, is now on the way to recovery and performing again.
The borough musician said: “We were shocked by such a remarkable response from so many local people who supported us but I suppose it is only natural that people want to try and help rid the world of such a horrible disease.”
