Drama and all that jazz at festival

THIS year's Solihull Festival, will see the Mayor of Solihull Cllr, David Bell, team up with Touchwood to host the official grand opening ceremony on Saturday.

THIS year's Solihull Festival, will see the Mayor of Solihull Cllr, David Bell, team up with Touchwood to host the official grand opening ceremony on Saturday.

Shoppers will be treated to live musical and drama performances in the Map room at the centre by the Solihull Youth Jazz Band, the Solihull Brass Ensemble and the Stagecoach theatre group between 10.30am and 12 noon.

Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, said: "The Solihull Festival is a great opportunity for people of all ages to celebrate local talent and experience everything that the town has to offer, whilst also raising money for some really good causes.

We encourage everyone to come along to the opening and help the festival get off to a fantastic start."

Running from September 20 to 28, The Solihull Festival will feature a range of daily activities to suit all ages from fun runs and cycle rides to theatre performances and musical extravaganzas.

All proceeds raised will be donated to a selection of local charities.
