A SOLIHULL pair will be taking the leading roles in the new musical from Coleshill Operatic Society.

The troupe are busy rehearsing for the lively musical Copacabana, which begins its run next week.

It draws inspiration from the Barry Manilow song of the same name - whisking the audience back to 1940s America.

Lisa Lilwall stars as showgirl Lola La Mar, while Gavin Whichello plays Tony Forte.

Coleshill Operatic Society are based in the Warwickshire village, which is just across the border from north Solihull.

Previously the troupe have tackled 42nd Street, The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas and Oklahoma!

Last year they marked their centenary by returning to their first ever production - H.M.S. Pinafore.

The show will be on at Solihull Arts Complex from April 12-17.

Tickets are available from the box office on 0121 704 6962.
