WHEN ELLIOT Fogarty was 11, he learned the guitar and by 15 he was regularly writing lyrics.
Today, aged 22, he remains determined to become a singer-song-writer. Only this year, five of his anthems made it to the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest.
While the Solihull lyricist was disappointed that he didn't win, he is also pleased that he made it as far as he did.
Elliot was up against over 6,000 people from around the UK and two of his tunes fell just short of reaching the final round.
In the months since entering the challenge, he has continued to build on his success. While waiting for feedback on the songs that impressed the judges, he has also recorded a demo and begun to play gigs.
