THE BEATLES’ last live performance 40 years ago is set to be marked today by Smooth Radio with ‘Fab Four Friday”.

The station will be playing three Beatles songs every hour from ‘Let it be’, ‘Abbey Road’ and ‘The White Album’.

Mark Goodier’s show from 10-1pm will feature Beatles Coffee Shop owner Richard Porter who is also the author of ‘The Guide to the Beatles London’.

Richard also guides five scheduled walks a week, focused solely around the Beatles - and a lucky listener will get a chance to win one.

At 8pm the station will also play a 15-minute Abbey Road Medley.

The Beatles’ celebrated rooftop show took place on Thursday, January 30, 1969, at Apple Corps (Roof), London and has become known as the Beatles’ last live performance, even if it couldn’t be classified as a concert.

The 42-minute show brought part of the capital to a standstill.
