Festival success for young musicians

YOUNG musicians brought the house down at this year’s National Rock and Pop Festival.

YOUNG musicians brought the house down at this year’s National Rock and Pop Festival.

The best bands in Solihull performed alongside groups from as far afield as Norwich, Hull and the Isle of Wight.

Organiser Richard Jones said that the 2010 event had been the most popular so far, with audiences packing into Birmingham Town Hall.

The festival comprised of six concerts across four-days, building to a big band finale last Tuesday.

“This is the tenth time that we’ve held this event it seemed very well received by everyone,” said Richard.

“We’d decided to hold the event at the Town Hall, as opposed to the NIA, to keep the costs down.

“But actually parents told me how they’d preferred it. The Town Hall is a more intimate venue and we put on a line-up that would suit it.”
