Solihull Symphony Orchestra’s new season starts in spectacular fashion this Sunday afternoon, August 28, with a free open air event in Knowle Park. The concert, arranged by Solihull Council’s community services department will feature all the usual Last Night of the Proms favourites including Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance Marches, a special arrangement of Rule Britannia by orchestra member Bob Thomas, and Parry’s Jerusalem.

Conductor Martin Leigh said: “We’re very much looking forward to this new venture, and hoping that it can become a regular event - maybe in different parks around Solihull.”

The concert begins at 2pm in Knowle Park near the Lodge Road entrance. Further details are available at www.solihullsymphony.org.uk or www.solihull.gov.uk/events/.
