Inception - Film Review

Inception

Inception

*****/*****

Following on from the incredible successes of the Batman Begins and Dark Knight films, director, Christoper Nolan turned his attention to his own creation Inception. A truly original idea, written, directed and produced by Nolan, Inception is his brain-child and a thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating experience.

The plot revolves around the next stage in corporate espionage, manipulation of dreams, and more specifically, the planting of ideas in a targets mind. Alongside one of the most unique film scripts ever written, expect to witness some mind-blowing special effects that perfectly capture the flexibility and volatility of the dream world.

At the head of the cast is Leonardo DiCaprio, an actor who in recent years seems incapable of putting a foot wrong, and once again he delivers a fantastic performance as the troubled yet determined dream extractor Dom Cobb. Other notable performances come from Ellen Page, of Juno fame, and English actor Tom Hardy, most well known for the lead in biopic film Bronson.

Inception is a brain-teaser in its purest form, and strict attention to detail and an active mind are essential for viewing this film. However, as long as you are prepared youll find Christoper Nolans latest creation to be not only highly entertaining but also a refreshing experience of what the medium of film is truly capable of. So leave that slow friend behind, turn on your brain and witness cinema at its most spectacular.
