Julie’s dream to come true at arts centre

A NEW arts centre will be opening its doors in Hampton-in-Arden next month.

A NEW arts centre will be opening its doors in Hampton-in-Arden next month.

The Centre of England Arts is the brainchild of Julie Hyde, from Meriden, who has been running art classes in the area for years.

Now she’s decided to bring her various courses under one roof and is looking to get other artists on board.

“I’ve been doing the classes for a while and they’ve gone from strength-to-strength, I must teach over 100 people in the area,” she said.

“The workshops were being held at village halls all over the place - Balsall Common, Meriden, Coleshill.

“But I decided that instead of carting my stuff all around the region, I should set up one place to hold all my classes.”

Julie said there would be courses in drawing, watercolour, photography and other skills - open to people of all abilities.

An open weekend will be held at Patrick Farm Barns, Meriden Road on September 4-5. To find out more go to www.COEA.co.uk
