ALMOST three weeks after news of the Westminster expenses scandal first broke, and its still making headlines.
Perfect timing, therefore, for the man who has made great entertainment out of exposing similar financial fiddling to come to town.
It is difficult to describe Mark Thomas without liberal use of the forward-slash, the comedian/activist/reporter/tv presenter/guinness world record holder is well known for political stunts exposing anyone who comes under his critical eye.
Tory MP Nicholas Soames was relentlessly hounded by Thomas after the Parliamentarian avoided paying inheritance tax by declaring art, furniture and homes were available for public viewing.
Thomas repeatedly asked for permission to see such items and Soames eventually crumbled and agreed to pay tax.
The comedian’s latest endeavour is to tour the country forming a political manifesto with the audience making the crucial decisions.
Mark Thomas will be appearing at Birmingham Town Hall on June 8.Tickets are £15, to book go to www.thsh.co.uk or call 0121 780 3333.
