GRAMMY award winning band, The Mavericks play Symphony Hall in Birmingham this Saturday, May 18.

The post-punk band lavished with deep retro-fittings emerged from Miami’s indie scene over 20 years ago, with a sound of neo-traditional country music which has been described as having innocence, intensity, and vintage influences all on equal measure.

With Cuban American lead singer Raul Malo at the helm, their unique Tex-Mex sound fuses traditional country music with rock & roll. In other words, they’re brilliant.

They’ve have played sold out shows in the UK including London’s Royal Albert Hall, and extensive tours of Japan, South America, Europe, the USA and Canada.

Tickets are £34.50 from Ticketmaster (0844 844 0444) or www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
