Paying tribute to Dusty

KNOWLE musician Matthew Jones is giving local people the chance to perform at the Royal Albert Hall.

KNOWLE musician Matthew Jones is giving local people the chance to perform at the Royal Albert Hall.

The former Arden School pupil has been appointed as musical director for a Dusty Springfield tribute show.

Coming to the world-famous venue on May 5, “For Dusty” will celebrate the life and times of the singer.

Now Matthew’s on the hunt for a local choir, who will perform with a full orchestra and a host of stars.

A firm believer that anyone can sing, he said that everybody over 16 - regardless of experience - will be considered.

In the past, the 26-year-old has put together choirs to support soul legend Madeline Bell and take part in a production of Orff’s Carmina Burana.

Rehearsals for the show, held in Birmingham, will start in April. Full training and coach travel to London will be provided.
