A CHILDREN’S writer will be going on display - yes, you did read that correctly - later this month.
Simon Cheshire, who has written over a dozen bestsellers, will be penning the latest entry in his Saxby Smart series in the front window of Solihull Borders.
Billed as “the only children’s writer in captivity”, Simon will be at the store from September 28-October 2.
He will be there each day from 9.30am-4pm and on Friday afternoon he will finish up with a book signing.
But what persuaded the Warwick author to swap the privacy of his own home for a more public studio?
“Partly, it’s to promote the latest volume of Saxby’s adventures, but it’s also to get people thinking about the relationship between writers and their readers,” he said.
“Besides, inspiration can be found in the unlikeliest places. If any interesting shoppers pass the window, they might well find themselves woven into the story!”
