PLANS are already in motion for Solihull Operatic Society's 2009 show.
It will be a production of South Pacific - the award-winning Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.
Although it will be a good few months before the show opens to the public, preparations are already well underway and rehearsals are due to begin next month.
With the society hoping to recruit new members, here's a bit of background for those who don't know the story.
Next year is in fact the 60th anniversary of South Pacific's triumphant arrival on Broadway. The tale of wartime romance quickly crossed the Atlantic and debuted at the Drury Lane Theatre in the early 1950s.
The show has been revived a number of times down the decades and was made into a film in 1958.
