MIDLANDS brothers, singersongwriter Star and musician RL are set to shine with the release of their highly acclaimed single, 'Gangster Boogie'.
Taken from the upcoming album, 'Return of the Ruler', the duo, who perform as Dirty Star, mix Afrobeat, Funk and Jazz and have been compared to Prince and Outkast and even hailed as the 'Black Mick Jagger' by NME.
The single is a Jazz/Funk and Hip-Hop/Soul fused track featuring top Grime artist Fumin', which charts the journey of a young man to wannabe gangster.
Star, who is 23, said : "As the first release from my latest album, I had to bring something a little different to the table and the 'Gangster Boogie' track and video have done just that. For this track, I embodied different genres of music to express different feelings and emotions that I feel and see in my everyday life."
Released by Midlands based Phurry Records, Gangster Boogie is available at all good retailers and downloadable from iTunes.
