The Tiger Who Came to Tea Birmingham Town Hall

WITH catchy songs and gentle humour, this adaptation of the children’s classic offers the perfect Easter treat for kids.

WITH catchy songs and gentle humour, this adaptation of the children’s classic offers the perfect Easter treat for kids.

Based on the bestselling book by Judith Kerr, it has been turned into a musical play by David Wood OBE, the king of children’s theatre who has been responsible for such successes as The BFG and Babe.

Sophie is the little girl whose day is turned upside down when a tiger appears at the door and proceeds to eat the contents of the kitchen.

The funky tiger clearly steals the show with his wiggly bottom and energetic tiger-obics.

And the magic, which allows him to clear plates and empty cupboards in an instant, is really clever.

At just under an hour long and with plenty of audience participation, it’s just right for restless kids.

My three-year-old daughter loved joining in the songs and roaring along with the Tiger.

Verdict: ****
