Top line-up set to raise a laugh

A HOST of local comics will be performing together as part of the Birmingham Comedy Festival.

The Brum Pack, comprising of eight stand-ups, will be taking to the stage at the Highlight Comedy Club.

Adam Green, who is organising the event, hopes that the evening will raise awareness for the city’s comedy scene.

“People say that there has been a resurgence of stand-up comedy with Michael Macintyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Live at the Apollo.

“While it’s true that venues like the NEC and NIA can fill thousands of seats, people sometimes overlook the local stand-ups.”

The evening features Brummie funnymen like Craig Deeley, Andy White and James Cook.

“Hopefully the evening will make people aware of the headline acts which this city has produced,” added Adam.

“We want to get as many bums on the seats as possible and let people know that this is the sort of thing on offer in Birmingham.”

Tickets for the October 7 gig are available on 0121 632 4936 or www.thehighlight.co.uk.
