Whole armful of Hancock genius

A HALL Green-based drama group are paying tribute to a comic legend this month.

A HALL Green-based drama group are paying tribute to a comic legend this month.

Theatre 28 will be performing a pair of sketches in the style of Hancock’s Half Hour.

Members think it’s an appropriate tribute to a local funnyman – Tony Hancock was born in Southam Road.

The sketches look at how the ‘lad himself’ might have got to grips with modern technology, if he was still alive today.

Also on the programme is a one-act-play, ‘Who Calls,’ set among the servants of a Victorian kitchen.

The treble-bill will be performed at the Church of the Ascension, School Road, on May 20-21.

* Tickets, which include a fish and chip supper, are available from Ted and Pam Holt on 0121 430 6555.
