Wind band answers aid call from Birmingham Children’s Hospital

A LOCAL wind band recently organised a spectacular concert in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Red Balloon Appeal.

A LOCAL wind band recently organised a spectacular concert in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Red Balloon Appeal.

Harmonie Concert Band, based at Langley Secondary School, and the Surplus Cassocks singing group are both celebrating 30 years of making music.

As part of their anniversary celebrations, they decided to team up and raise money for the appeal. Their concert took place at Shirley Methodist Church on November 27.

Harmonie are no strangers to fund raising, they have previously supported Marie Curie and it’s not the first time they’ve backed the Red Balloon appeal.

The main aim of the scheme is to provide modernised and more comfortable surroundings for the Children’s Hospital patients and Harmonie hope to raise £2,000.
