LAST year the Belgrade served up the best panto in the region and they’ve got another cracker on their hands with this one.
It’s full to bursting with audience participation, laughs galore, songs and dances as well as a superb slapstick scene which is all the funnier for knowing exactly what’s going to happen next.
The show is held together by the superb Craig Hollingsorth as Muddles the court jester ably assisted by scary Katy Stephens as the baddie Carabosse and Iain Lauchlan’s Dame Nanny Knot who parades a catwalk of the most outrageous outfits.
Morna Macpherson makes a rather fetching Prince Valiant while Lindsay Harding is a suitably demure Princess Bella.
It’s all good clean fun too and both the adults and children in the audience loved it. And if that wasn’t enough the youngsters on stage at the end did their best to steal the show - with hilarious results.
one criticism is that the first half is a bit on the long side - no problem on stage as the laughs kept coming, but it did mean a few runs to the loo for some tots. Finally, the stage, set and dancers are knockout. Thoroughly recommended for children of all ages.
